Terry Gibbs: "From Me To You" A tribute to Lionel Hampton.

The Terry Gibbs SACD 5.1 mix is the first ever to utilize binaural audio. Franz Pusch is looking back at 20 years of experience with multichannel and binaural audio recording. The advantages over conventional microphnes within a 5.1 environment are that the listeners brain receives accurate spatial information from two 180 degree offset binaural audio channels. This allows for "disembodied" sound. The listener is no longer able to locate the speakers but experiences the performances as if he would be present at the recording location. In case of the Terry Gibbs recording the VRSound head systems were used not only to track at Capitol Studios, but also to spatialize digital reverbs and monoral signals in the mix. VRSound Corporation is the world leader in spatial audio for the entertainment industry. 5.1 SACD is a perfect platform for this technology. "From Me To You" in 5.1 is a milestone and will become the SACD all othes will be compared to. Mack Avenue Records has not only produced an amazing recording of amazing legendary musicians but also has set a new standard in audio quality.
